On behalf of the WBF committee, I want to thank everyone who attended and participated in the 6th Annual Oak Orchard Wooden Boat Fest, Aug. 12-13, 2006. The weekend was spectacular...the wide variety of unique boats, the festive music, the savory food, the entertainers, the craftsmen, and especially the weather.
A special thanks to the Orleans County Veterans who kicked off our event with a moving opening ceremony, marching in to Ron & Nancy OneSong's rendition of "God Bless America". Another personal highlight is hearing the outbreak of applause along the banks of the river after Bagpiper Jake Allen performed "Amazing Grace" from the deck of the Sara B as it cruised up the "Oak" in Saturday's boat parade. I could go on and list all my favorite moments, but my description will pale in comparison to being there.
