Traveling the Erie Canal and need information? A kiosk was
THE CANALWAY CHALLENGE is installed at the Medina Canal Port (AKA Canal Basin) featuring
celebrating another year of incredible maps of the village and greater Medina area The panels depict
impact. 2,476 participants from Medina’s history, the Erie Canal, Sandstone, events, recreation,
41 states cycled, walked, ran, and arts & culture, culinary and community services. The listings
paddled along the NYS Canal include must-see attractions and services. This project was a

Annual Cycle the Erie Canal event July 11-19,
2026, riding 400 miles from Buffalo to Albany.
The first leg of the journey is an overnight
stop in Medina. Albion will welcome cyclists
Monday morning, proceeded by a lunch stop
at the Holley Canal Park before heading east.
