OAK ORCHARD LIGHTHOUSE
HISTORY
The only lighthouse in Orleans County, the Oak Orchard
Harbor Light, was built in 1871 on a wooden pier 1,600’
from the mouth of the Oak Orchard River. In December
1916, it was swept away by a violent storm. In 2010, Oak Orchard Harbor by
Schoen Productions TBG
through a grassroots effort, a replica of the Oak Orchard
Lighthouse was rebuilt on firmer ground in Point Breeze.

presents Aurora Over the Lighthouse,
a dazzling light show inspired by the
beauty of the Northern Lights. From May
through December, the show runs nightly,
beginning a half-hour after sunset. The
30-minute experience features softly
shifting, colorful lights, creating a calm and
memorable way to end a summer evening
by the water. Music will be added in 2026!

ak Orchard Harbor offers a pleasant destination for the cruising sailor,
Opower boater or sea kayaker. The tree-lined gorge, carved by the Oak
Orchard River, provides a scenic backdrop for a full service port featuring a ORLEANS COUNTY
professional charter fleet, sailing clubs, parks, marine sales and repairs, fuel, SHERIFF MARINE PATROL
pump out stations, lodging and restaurants. The harbor is protected by two
parallel jetties and a break wall at the mouth of the river.
