A Mid-Summer Celebration: On the Bank of the Erie Canal
The Cobblestone Museum is hosting Midsummer Celebration: On the Bank of the Erie Canal. Mark your calendar for July 17. The annual Garden Soiree will feature the local quintet, E-YAH-Pah-Hah. This year’s event will be held at Riley Place in Albion. NY. In recognition of the Bicentennial year of the Erie Canal, this magnificent garden is the perfect choice as it is on the north bank of the Erie Canal.
Parking is limited near Riley’s gardens, so we recommend parking at the Light of Victory Church (formerly St. Mary’s RC) , 47 Brown Street, Albion (corner of Moore and Brown St) and ride the shuttle van that will run throughout the event.
Wine and light refreshments prepared by Joyce Chizick will delight visitors. The event will open at 4 pm and continue until dark. The Soiree is an ongoing informal event with activities sprinkled throughout the garden.
E-YAH-Pah-Hah (translated Town Crier) will present their featured musical performance beginning at 5:00 pm. Formed in 2023, this quintet of music educators has been a popular addition to the local music scene.
This is a large garden and there are many places to sit as you wander about at your own pace. Feel free to bring your lawn chair.
Reservations recommended online here or by phone (585) 589-9013.. A suggested donation of $10 will help the Cobblestone Museum continue its mission.
