Canal Club Program at the YMCA

Enjoy a FREE hydrobike excursion along the scenic Erie Canal here in beautiful historic Medina. Hydrobikes and lifejackets are all provided!

The Y will be allowing people to go kayaking and to pedal the hydro-bikes from Thursdays to Saturdays, from noon to 9 p.m. The program ends on Aug. 9.

The Orleans County YMCA has partnered with Bents Opera House to proudly continue their Canal Club program! Throughout the summer, they are offering free, one-hour excursions open to anyone. Our excursions will provide standard hydrobikes and accompanying equipment (lifejackets).

Wear comfortable clothing and shoes or sandals that can get wet, and bring your water bottle, sunscreen, sunglasses, and a small drawstring bag or backpack to carry them in.

Thunder & lightning & downpours will cause an excursion to be cancelled & a makeup time will unfortunately not be available due to limited availability. Excursions will continue in light rain.

Self-guided trips and experiences start and end at the Medina Canal Basin (Right behind Captain Kidz on 143 E Center St, Medina, NY 14103). Public restrooms are limited, so it is recommended to use the restroom before arriving at the Canal Basin. Hydrobikes will be launched at the Medina Canal Basin community dock, featuring a BoardSafe accessible launch. The distance traveled will depend on your ability and time.

Excursions are open to participants age 12 and up. If under 18, you must be accompanied by an adult.

Excursions will be happening all summer long. This program will run from the week of June 22nd to August 9th with a wide variety of one-hour time slots on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays! They start at various times, so check out the tickets for the specific time(s) on each date.
