Lee-Whedon Memorial Library hosts the following special events this summer. Fun, free and all supplies provided.

July 10 @ 11 AM: Nature Journaling
Keeping field notes is a great way to improve observation skills and record what catches out attention. Get inspired, learn some tips, go home with a personalized journal, and get out there!

July 17 @ 11 AM: Shark Shiver
Learn all about sharks and the adaptations they have that help them to be such effective predators. Look at shark jaws and teeth, feel shark skin, check out preserved shark eggs, and learn about shark senses with interactive activities!

July 24 @ 10 AM & 11 AM: Bird-Watching Field Trip at the INWR
Meet us off-site at the Iroquois National Wildlife Refuge! Ranger Logan Sauer will be guiding our hike with pointers along the way on how to best glimpse local birds. Rain or shine! Dress for the weather!!
*10:00am OR 11:00am walks available

July 31 @ 11 AM: Mobile Planetarium
This program will offer four 30-minute walks through the planetarium
The mobile planetarium from the Challenger Learning Center is returning with a fresh presentation for summer! Experience a simulation of the night sky. Sign-up is for one of the four walk throughs.

Aug. 2 @ 8:30 PM: Astronomy Live
Learn about amateur astronomy under the real-life night sky with guests from the Buffalo Astronomical Association. These local enthusiasts are coming equipped with telescopes-- it's going to be stellar! Come in any weather! There is an indoor version if conditions don't cooperate.

Aug. 7 @ 11:30 AM: Paddle to the Sea
Follow a hand carved Paddle to the Sea canoe through an interactive adventure! Find shipwrecks, popular waterfalls, cities, canals, and locks along the route from the Great Lakes to the Atlantic Ocean!
