This week’s Pic of the Week is by Capt. Tom Murray from Catch’n Hell Charters, 8/14/21:
Bro-Weekend was a success for the Meyer family from Eastern PA and NJ (pictured below)! The morning started out great but Lady O offered up some serious chop by noon. They scored 4 king salmon (17-20 lbs) and a trophy sized steelhead weighing in at 16 lbs. They fished a little west of port between the 27-29 lines of latitude. The fish were biting on a deep rigger set at 120, flasher/meat rig and wire dipsey, 280-300 out, gold 42 second paddle with mirage fly, NBK paddle mirage fly, 600 hundred copper with a Jill bill meat rig. A great time was had by all and they’re looking forward to returning next year!
Capt. Mike Lavender from Intimidator Sportfishing reported that the ups & downs continue on Lady O and this past Saturday was an "UP" judging from young Jeremiah's smile! These 23 & 25 lb Salmon were caught in 450 to 500 fow….40 to 120 down, using Dipseys 180 to 220 just slightly west of the Oak. Captain Mike's recommendation is using mainly a flasher fly bite… yellow flashers, blue green flies.
Welcome August! This week's Picture of the Week comes from Mike Grager's crew from Get Hooked Sportfishing. They caught this 29# salmon earlier this week, their biggest catch of the year! They also landed 4 mature Kings, 3 steelhead, a brown, and a lake trout! Fished pretty much 100- 250 feet of water.
There's a lot more lake fishing for the next 2 months so contact a charter and schedule a trip of your lifetime! See our list of charters and guides HERE.
